Oh boy let me tell you what this mission thing is an adventure! so many crazy things happened this week! First I'll start with Tuesday some other sisters came to do exchanges with us. While we were out I was with Sis. Thomson , Sis. Fife, and Sis. Kramer. Kramer and Fife have not been out too long so it was super fun. They got a good taste of brownwood within the first 2 hours! As we were walking downt he street a guy on his porch was like oh look mormons and started shooing us away... ya know now big deal happenes all the time... next we went o our favoite park to try to contact people there. We saw this adorable old couple and decided to talk to them... Well the next 20 minutes consisted of them telling us we were part of a cult, didn't read the bible, thought Christ was a polygamist, you know all the good stuff trying to bash with us. Well they wouldn't shut up so I just interupted them and said ma'am I know that this is true because the spirit told me... then another 20 minutes about how there is false spirits that told me the church was true blah blah blah... So finally I just said I dont feel the spirit have a nice day and started to walk away. She then yelled you dont feel the sprit cause you hear truth! .... that was really awkward for me cause thats the job of the spirit is to bear witness of the truth... Then she so kindly invited me to go to josephsmithlied.com so I followed that up witha invitation to mormon.org.... she kept yelling I stoped listening and we all kept walking away... needless to say im pretty sure those two little missionaries may have been scarred for life... But it turned out to be a pretty okay day!
Luckily even though there was craziness all week Jake got baptized which was crazy all in itself because he left for out fo town monday and didn't have a cell phone and didn't get back till saturday morning at 5... so that was really fun. The good news is he showed up and has an awesome testimony!
Church this week was also really great I felt the spirit so strong. People from the stake came and talked on the atonment. One thing I really liked was he referenced to D&C 19 and talked about how when its our turn to drink from the bitter cup in life that we cannot become bitter about it. I dont think im a bitter person but not gonna lie when those old folks yelled at me I was a little bitter about it so that really helped open my eyes.
This week has been a emotional rollercoaster but it ended on a great note so I really cant complain. Thanks so much for all y'alls support it really does make a huge difference for me! Thanks so much! No matter what happens the gospels true so life is good!
oh and pictures! one is brownwoods city moto, the other is Jakes baptism
